About

The Rehab Foundation

The Rehab Foundation was established to respond to the challenges faced by indigent inmates, former inmates, and individuals navigating life after incarceration.

Our work focuses on improving access to justice, supporting rehabilitation, promoting human rights, and creating opportunities for successful reintegration. We recognise that rehabilitation extends beyond release from custody.

Access to Justice

The foundation provides legal support for indigent awaiting-trial inmates who are unable to secure adequate legal representation. By working with legal practitioners and partner organisations, we help improve access to justice and encourage fair legal processes.

Rehabilitation and Skills Development

Preparing individuals for life beyond incarceration is central to our work. We support programmes that provide life skills, vocational training, mentorship, and personal development, helping participants build confidence and prepare for meaningful employment and independent living.

Reintegration Support

Successful reintegration requires continued support. The foundation is working towards establishing post-detention transition homes that provide temporary accommodation, guidance, and practical assistance for individuals rebuilding their lives after release.

Human Rights Advocacy

We promote respect for human dignity within the criminal justice system by advocating for fair treatment, rehabilitation, and policies that encourage successful reintegration rather than exclusion.

Legal Aid Council

Securing fair representation and structural legal pathways for marginalized individuals awaiting integration.

Providing crucial social casework, counseling, and dynamic vocational training programs.

Mobilizing local community legal networks to protect human rights and ease socio-economic re-entry.

Our Impact

Since its beginnings as a community development initiative, The Rehab Foundation has expanded its work across multiple communities, supporting individuals through legal assistance, rehabilitation programmes, and reintegration initiatives.

Prison Humanitarian Award (2019)

Presented for transformative reform programs in correctional facilities, successfully reducing recidivism and introducing robust mental health frameworks nationally.

Red Cross Award for Human Welfare

Honoring excellence in rapid response advocacy and outstanding, compassionate reintegration programs developed for vulnerable populations struggling with systemic barriers.
